Michael Donelson practices civil litigation with an emphasis on professional liability, personal injury, and product liability defense. Prior to completing law school, Mike worked for eleven years as a liability analyst in the insurance industry, the last six years of which were with a major physician’s professional liability carrier. After completing law school, Mike began his legal career with a well-respected Illinois law firm, where he represented both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide range of litigation matters.
Mike's past experiences include:
- Represented a general contractor in a lawsuit involving the death of a worker in a fall from a man lift. After extensive discovery, Mike was able to negotiate a favorable settlement on behalf of his client for substantially below plaintiff’s demand.
- Participated in the defense of two general surgeons sued over the death of a woman who developed post-operative bleeding and died. The case was tried and resulted in a defense verdict for the surgeons.
- Participated in the defense of a family practitioner accused of failing to properly prescribe the proper anti-coagulant for a woman who subsequently developed a debilitating stroke. Trial resulted in a verdict for the defendant physician.
